Your team SMART goal is:
Narrow the gender gap in writing in organization and sentence fluency as well as in conventions/mechanics to less than 7% in organization/sentence fluency and less than 3% in conventions/mechanics while improving the overall mechanics score to 60% P or AP by May of 2009 as measured by Centennial’s writing continuum.



We ran a 1x per week writing group. We worked on organization of paragraphs by using the strips of paper. They will write a 5 sentence paragraph on Monday to see if they learned from the intervention.

Barb had the Hotlist group. Stacey and Laura taught the middle of the road group and focused on organization. Cindy taught the higher students with a focus on onganization and word choice.

On Monday the students will write a piece to demonstrate their organization and what they have learned focusing in on zooming in with rich details.

We will have the students use the CSAP checklist before they turn in their work!

We will grade the writing using an appropriate rubric that measures what we taught!
